Shailcote S is an all-purpose stop off paste specifically formulated to prevent the hardening of selected areas on components undergoing cyanide hardening or other Salt bath hardening processes.
It acts as a protective mask to ensure that only desired areas of metal part are hardened. A dry film thickness of 50-100 microns is generally recommended for effective protection.
